Daily Tool BotPrivacy Policy
The short version: Daily Tool Bot stores the minimum needed to post a message in the channel you chose. It does not read messages, does not collect information about server members, and this website uses no cookies and no analytics scripts.
Who we are
Daily Tool Bot ("the bot", "we") is an independent project that posts daily tool deals into chat channels and publishes an archive of those deals at https://dailytoolbot.com. We are not owned or operated by KC Tool. Contact: [email protected].
What the Discord bot stores
When an administrator runs /subscribe, we store:
- the Discord server (guild) ID
- the channel ID and channel name
- the posting hour and timezone you chose
- a log of which deals were posted to that channel and when, so nothing is posted twice
- a count of recent delivery failures, so we can stop posting to channels that no longer exist
Operational logs may also include the server name and member count at the moment the bot is added or removed.
What the bot does not collect
- No message content. The bot does not request the Message Content intent and cannot read your messages.
- No member lists, presence, or profile data. The bot requests no privileged intents.
- No user IDs of the people who run commands.
- No direct messages. The bot never messages members.
How we use the data
Only to deliver the daily deal to the channels that asked for it, to keep the service working, and to count how many servers use the bot. We do not sell or rent data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Affiliate links and third parties
Links to kctool.com are affiliate links managed through Refersion. Each link includes our affiliate ID and a tag identifying the source, such as the Discord server ID or a page of this website, so we can see which communities find the deals useful. The tag does not identify the person who clicks. When you follow a link, KC Tool and Refersion handle your visit under their own privacy policies, including any cookies they set.
Service providers we rely on: Discord (message delivery), Fly.io (hosting), and Shopify's content network (product images shown on this site, loaded directly from cdn.shopify.com by your browser).
This website
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Like any web server, our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request details in order to deliver pages and protect the service.
Retention and deletion
/unsubscribestops posting to a channel immediately.- Removing the bot from your server deactivates all of that server's subscriptions immediately.
- Deactivated subscriptions and their posting logs are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- To have data deleted sooner, email [email protected] with your server ID.
The deal archive contains only product information and holds no personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we hold almost none, the simplest route is the email address above. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and Discord's own terms require users to be at least 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and note the change on this page.
